Techweek is Aotearoa New Zealand’s nationwide festival of technology and innovation.
The intention behind Techweek is simple. New Zealand’s technology sector is growing rapidly and Techweek fosters that growth by providing the nation with a week-long opportunity for connection and collaboration. Techweek is an independent platform where individuals, organisations and regions can showcase their unique and inspiring tech and innovation stories.
Techweek is a platform to showcase tech and innovation in New Zealand. Any event that focuses on tech in New Zealand can be involved. This could be anything from a networking event to an open day, hackathon or a conference.

Our new Techweek portal and organiser dashboard allows you to create, submit, publish and manage your event with ease. Once you and/or your organisation have decided on an event topic, date/time and target audience you’re ready to start our submission process.
If this is your first time running an event with Techweek you will need to register with us by clicking the sign up to Techweek tab. All we require for registration is your name, organisation and email address.
Below is an outline of the information you’ll need to provide in your submission. If you have this information to hand, your event submission will take a matter of minutes.
Event title: for example ‘Tech careers in New Zealand’ (up to 70 characters)
Event theme: select from this years Techweek themes. If your event does not align with our themes, please choose the one that best reflects your subject matter.
Event type: is your event an in-person event, a virtual event or a combination of the two?
NOTE: There’s a possibility this year’s festival will be required to pivot online should COVID-19 restrictions apply. To minimise the risk of cancellations, we encourage all event organisers to strongly consider delivering hybrid or fully virtual events.
Location: choose your location from our dropdown list. If you are running a virtual event please select the location you are based in.
Single event or multiple sessions: does your event programme cover multiple time slots that someone can attend – i.e. an expo, or morning/afternoon drop-in sessions? Or is it a single event that audiences will attend in its entirety?
Event date and times: choose the day or days your event will take place on, as well as the start and finish time (between 16 - 22 May).
Event cost: is your event free for attendees? Is there a cost? Or would you prefer a donation?
Event formats, sectors and target audience: please select from our dropdown menus. This information helps us promote your event to the right people.
Event image: we require an image that is 600 x 400 and at a 2:1 ratio for best results (Max 5Mb). Please do not include logos or text in your image – these can be attached within the ‘organisation’ tab.
Event summary: this summary is displayed on your event tile on the main programme, and is used when sharing your event across social media. Your summary should be short and attention-grabbing to generate event registrations (30-40 words max).
Event description: a full description of your event. Please consider your event format, sector and target audience when writing your event description. You may edit your description, add in speaker details and new information at any time once your event has been accepted into the Techweek programme.
Event cost: if you plan to run multiple events (i.e. different events and/or different locations), please submit a separate listing for each event. You will be required to pay the standard event fee of $49.00 plus GST for each event. However, if your single event runs across multiple days (i.e. starts Monday morning and ends Tuesday evening), this should be submitted as one event and you will only pay a single event fee of $49.00 plus GST.
After your event has been submitted, in your dashboard you can view/ manage your events, you will also see the option
