Run a Techweek Event

The annual Techweek programme is open for event submissions from any interested individual, group or company nationwide.

The programme focuses on two broad audiences:

General Public | it's time to show New Zealanders the value and potential impact technology on their lives and on Aotearoa's future prosperity.

Tech Ecosystem | Techweek is our annual opportunity to connect across the New Zealand tech sector to grow our capability and celebrate our success.

Why Host a Techweek25 Event?

Connect: Reach a nationwide audience of tech enthusiasts, innovators, and industry leaders.

Showcase: Highlight your technology, project, or expertise on a national stage.

Inspire: Help shape the future by empowering communities and industries.

Collaborate: Network with like-minded innovators and discover new opportunities.

Becoming a Techweek event organiser means connecting with a nationwide network of inspiring tech leaders and enthusiasts who are helping strengthen the innovation ecosystem in New Zealand.

The Techweek platform harnesses the power of the community to make your event the best it can be, by connecting you with the people you need to make it happen (whether you're after a free venue, cool speakers, or even someone to bring along the coffee).

Leveraging Techweek's brand lends credibility and amplifies your mahi to grow your impact. Running a Techweek event gives you access to a library of assets and tools to market your event more effectively.

Amplification across Techweek's network will build on your own. Tag us #techweek25 #goodfortheworld @techweeknz to extend your reach.

Access to experts and an opportunity to collaborate with fellow Techweek organisers extends your network and strengthens your event offering.

Local Techweek programmes are coordinated by Techweek's Regional Coordinators on the ground throughout the country. This awesome team can help you make local connections and provide hands-on support throughout the event planning and delivery stages.

How to list your event

We’ve listened to your feedback and made it even easier to host an event for Techweek25!

This year, we’re working with Humanitix as our exclusive ticketing platform. That means you will no longer need to make a submission to the Techweek event portal to be included, and there is no listing fee or Koha to be part of Techweek (standard Humanitix event fees apply).

Instead just follow one simple process to build your event listing in Humanitix and get it live in the Techweek programme. Not only will this streamline the process for everyone, but it also gives you access to Humanitix ticketing tools to make your event more accessible and hassle-free.

Start by creating your account on Humanitix.

Follow this Quick Start Guide to build your event on Humanitix.

Once your event is ready to publish, give us access:

  • Go to Account > Permissions.
  • Click Share Permissions.
  • Enter events@techweek.co.nz.
  • Select Event/feature specific and choose your Techweek25 event.
  • Set permissions to Manage orders, attendees, and email campaigns.
  • Need help? Check out this guide.

We’ll review your event and add it to the Techweek25 website.

FAQs

Techweek event submissions are open to any individual, group or company interested in leveraging the Techweek platform.

Each year, Techweek chooses strategic pillars to help our nationwide event organiser community focus the content of their events for maximum impact.

The goal is for Techweek to contribute toward the growth of our tech sector, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

2025 content pillars are:

 Growing Exports

  Improving Sustainability

  Creating Good Tech

  Developing Careers & Skills

  Lifting Productivity

Techweek is all about helping New Zealanders to discover new and emerging technologies, and learn about how it can impact their lives for the better. It's also an opportunity for us to connect, share and up skill across the tech sector.

As such, the Techweek programme includes a diverse range of event types, from conferences, expos and demos, to networking, webinars, workshops and classes. Techweek events can be in person, virtual, or hybrid.

There is no restriction on the type of event that can run within the Techweek programme, the most important thing is understanding who the audience is, and what the objective or desired outcome is for each event.

This helps our nationwide team of coordinators categorise your event correctly so the right audience can find it on the platform.

There is not cost to run a Techweek event in 2025, but we encourage you to become a sponsor or supporter if it's within your means!

Techweek is run by NZTech — the united voice for tech in Aotearoa. We're a not-for-profit membership funded NGO with a shared vision for a more prosperous, equitable, sustainable and safe Aotearoa, enabled by tech.

We rely on industry support to run Techweek, if you think aligning your brand with our Aotearoa's biggest tech festival would be beneficial, find out more about becoming a Techweek25 Sponsor

We'll open the call for Techweek25 events mid-January 2025. More info to come!
