Attending Techweek22 - what do I need to know?

When is Techweek22?

Techweek will run from 16 - 22 May 2022, nationwide.

What type of events are generally run at Techweek?

Techweek hosts a wide range of events types – from small meet-ups, hackathons, and workshops, as well as networking events and conferences. Events focus on showcasing the amazing innovations and technology we have happening throughout New Zealand.

From Agritech, Artificial Intelligence, gaming & e-sports events, through broadcast panel discussions on biotech, internet of things and fintech  – we’ve hosted it all. We also see plenty of general events that appeal to the community and showcase our Kiwi innovation. Community events have included things like gaming and coding for kids, health and wellbeing workshops and parenting in a social media age.

Event formats include in-person, virtual and hybrid (a face-to-face event also hosted digitally). With uncertainty still around COVID-19, we expect to see the hybrid format utilised more widely in Techweek22.

When will the programme be announced?

The Techweek22 programme will be live on Tuesday 3 March the programme will be updated regularly with new events so check back daily to see what’s added!

Who can attend Techweek events?

Anyone! Techweek has events to suit all ages and stages. Check out what interests you and book in to attend as many events as you wish.

How do I book events?

On our programme page, simply use our search filters to find event types that interest you. From here, you’ll have the option to ‘save event’ (to review/book at a later date), ‘add to calendar’, ‘register’ or ‘email organiser’.

Is there a charge to attend events?

Techweek offers a wide range of events, with the majority of these being free to attend. A small proportion of events are paid events and the cost for these vary depending on the event type and duration.

What else do I need to know?

We are hopeful that New Zealand’s COVID-19 situation will be stable in May.- However, we are conscious that this is a challenging and ever-evolving time and are prepared for any eventuality. Please ensure you follow the Covid Protection Framework, if you’re considering creating an in-person event.

Should the need arise, Techweek22 will move to a 100% digital format. We have experience in successfully delivering this platform (Techweek2020) and all systems and processes are in place should we need to revert to this.

In short, Techweek will be going ahead - rain, hail or COVID Alert Level!
