Event Tips

17 May 2019

Death to Stock Weekend Brainstorm 9 WEB2

To say that Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its partners and customers are passionate about how technology can make our lives better would be an understatement. This year, they’re hosting around 20 events during Techweek19 across New Zealand. AWS events during Techweek19 range from training on AWS Cloud 101, to flying angels on Lime scooters, to saving native birds with machine learning (ML).

Let’s take a step back… flying angels? On scooters? Lime and Flying Kite Angels (FKA) are teaming up to kick off this initiative. It will involve 50 investors visiting various companies in the Wynyard/Britomart vicinity to learn about innovation in transportation. In between places, the investors will e-scooter – worth checking out!

And saving native birds? In this talk, the Department of Conservation, Consegna, and Qrious will share how they’re using innovative technology such as Internet of Things (IoT) and ML on AWS to ensure the best outcomes for the kākāpō and kiwi.

Don’t miss the many informative and fun sessions to engage with AWS during Techweek19, including the hands-on session with Amazon Alexa.
