From laptops to tablets, smart TVs to smart washing machines, our homes now contain all sorts of devices that make our lives easier, more comfortable and more connected.
Smart technology has become a major part of our everyday lives, and as more devices are able to connect to the Internet of Things, we will become even more connected in the future.
Here at Techweek we believe it is important to consider how technology is impacting New Zealand households. In order to do that, we need to find out just how connected Kiwis are.
Do you know how many connected devices are in your household? You might be surprised!
What is a connected device? It is any device that can connect to the internet or mobile data. These include:
Computers and laptops
Mobile phones and tablets
E-readers
Smartwatches and GPS devices
Household appliances: fridges, heat pumps, washing machines etc
Virtual assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and other smart speakers
Monitoring systems: security systems, baby monitors etc
Take our survey below to tell us how many connected devices you have in your home. Your response will help us create a national picture of how many connected devices the average New Zealand household has.
The results of the survey will be released during Techweek2020,18 - 24 May, which is New Zealand’s national celebration of tech innovation.
