The Ministry’s purpose is to shape the education system for excellent and equitable outcomes for ākonga and whānau.
The Ministry drives system design and changes that support teaching and learning to be relevant, engaging and equitable. We support young people to grow their digital skills through our curricula, guidance, resources and professional development for teaching. We enable young people to discover, explore and connect to the world of work through funding of Trades Academies, and initiatives that support transitions into further study or work.
The Ministry is supporting 6 schools to participate in the P-Tech programme. The initiative sees industry, high schools and tertiary education partners working together to address skills shortages and create an industry talent pipeline with the digital sk
