FEATURE PANEL - Games in Te Reo & Maori History

How Animation, Gaming and AR/VR are contributing to educating audiences on subjects such as diversity, Māori culture and mental health.
Join us for short presentations and a panel discussion with local developers Sam Ramlu, Abhishek Kala & Maru Nihoniho. Moderated by Stephen Knightly

Sam Ramlu (Method)
Sam is the Managing Director and co-founder of Method – an award winning creative innovations agency, and M Theory – an AR/VR experience agency.

Abhi Kala (Titan Ideas)
Founder of Titan Ideas Limited, Abhi is an award-winning lecturer and an innovator. He is a multi-dimensional creative focused on re-imagining storytelling and education using the latest in immersive technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality to better facilitate learning in kids.

Maru Nihoniho (Metia Interactive)
Maru is the managing director, game producer and designer at Metia Interactive, an award-winning game design studio she founded in 2002. Maru is the game designer behind the development of SPARX, an interactive game based on cognitive behavioural therapy, designed to help young rangatahi manage their depression.

In 2016 Maru was awarded a New Zealand Order of Merit for her work in gaming and mental health.
Award winning creative innovations agency 'Method' has worked with clients to create unique and compelling experiences for marketing, communications, and entertainment and provides AR/VR services through it's specialist arm 'M Theory'.
