David Downs, MC the event and provide an overview of the life-changing medical research and innovation underway at New Zealand’s leading independent biomedical research institute, the Malaghan Institue of Medical Research. He will also share his experience of the breakthrough cancer technology, CAR T-cell therapy.
Bruce Davey Chief Executive at Aranz Medical, a successful export organisation, whose customers include the World Health Organisation (WHO), the innovations at ARANZ Medical are focused on good for the world. Hear about the company’s export journey so far, the value of partnerships and the important role that the company’s culture and philosophy play in enhancing their export journey.
Also joining us will be Jamie Cairns, Chief Executive of Taska- a world-leading prosthetics company that believe in ‘doing more’ for life. Jamie will share the company’s journey so far, emphasising on their R&D process, export entry into the USA & German markets plus future challenges that may lie ahead.

An experienced senior executive, with proven skills in developing, planning and executing business strategies across both multi-national corporations and small & medium business; in developed as well as emerging markets and in economic development roles.
Bruce joined the ARANZ group in 2006 as the head of sales and marketing. He was appointed CEO of the ARANZ group in 2008 after overseeing seven-fold growth. ARANZ Medical was formed into a separate entity in 2010.
Prior to joining the ARANZ group, Bruce spent 15 years in North America holding senior roles in engineering, product management and business development. Bruce holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Jamie is an experienced company executive with a real lean toward the application of technology. His skills include business development, customer service innovation, technology commercialisation, new ventures, scalable service delivery, telecommunications, and systems integration. Jamie has worked in a variety of private and public sector roles with organisations including Vodafone, Snap Internet, CropLogic, and the UK Ministry of Defence.
