James Araci is a Future Insights Manager at Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand’s innovation agency. With 20 years’ experience in sustainability and biotechnology, James helps businesses predict and prepare for changes in their markets to their own advantage. Callaghan Innovation works with ambitious Kiwi businesses of all sizes, helping them grow faster with technology and science.
Colm Kearney is a programme manager with Callaghan Innovation leading our technology challenge programme, the C-Prize, as well as our programmes championing young innovators. The C-Prize programme is an incentivised technology competition to push the boundaries of what’s possible through technology. Colm has recently been working to design the 2019 Challenge with its focus on accelerating environmental innovation. Colm is originally from Ireland and has proudly called New Zealand home for nearly the last decade, spending time working with the New Zealand Ministry of Health and Irish Central Statistics Office before joining Callaghan Innovation. Colm comes with a policy, design and management background.
Veronica is the Founder and CEO of the biotechnology company, Humble Bee, whose mission is to replace existing, toxic and unsustainable plastics with superior, biologically-inspired materials to improve human health and that of the environment. Veronica has a BSc in Reproductive Anatomy and Structural Biology and a Masters in Science Communication. She is skilled at pulling academic research into alignment with market needs, forming multidisciplinary teams and translating technical outcomes into business strategy. Veronica is the Chair for the Return on Science Momentum Investment Committee, a Judge for KiwiNet's Science Commercialisation Awards, and mentor for CreativeHQ's Venture Up workshops.
