Techweek Highlight Event

Techweek TV : The essentials for start-ups

Three companies tell us how they are disrupting and reinventing how they operate to fit the needs of the growing start-up scene in Aotearoa.

What's it all about?

Small business culture is a fibre that has always run strong through Kiwi communities. Today, our business landscape is made up of many start ups, yet business services often aren’t structured in a way that is practical for them.

Techweek showcases three companies changing they way they operate to make allowances for the growing startup scene in Aotearoa. Hear from Sprout Recruitment, StoryTech and 1HQ Finance as they talk strategy, processes and cost structures to provide insights into how others can do the same.

Vanesha Din

Director; talent partner; connector

As one of the Co-Founders of Sprout NZ, I am extremely passionate and fortunate to work with talented, ambitious kiwis to support business growth and productivity. Having spent the last 12 years working in recruitment, talent acquisition and leadership roles in Auckland, its been an exciting, fun and rewarding experience being ingrained in the start-up & high growth tech industry in NZ.

At Sprout we support start-ups, high growth and scaling businesses with 'people' to plan, find & grow. We know for a start-up or a growing business, this can be one of the biggest challenges. We also know that it getting it right is crucial for a business to succeed.

In the last 12 months we have supported NZ tech start-ups & scaling businesses that have been at varying degrees of growth; from one person who needed support with understanding employee costs, job descriptions, contracts and planning cash flow before hiring through to established teams that need to scale quickly whilst keeping their existing team connected.

We have a sustainable model specifically tailored to start ups and high growth businesses, enabling us to be an extension of your business as you get going.
