ANZ has long recognised that embracing innovation is central to ensuring long-term success but the pace of the game has changed. Join ANZ’s Jody Bullen, Richard Copus and Jamahl Webster for a chat about their ecosystem approach and why they believe orchestrating and participating in partnerships that deliver innovation, is critical to keeping pace with digital transformation acceleration and ever-evolving customer demand.
An insightful business and technology leader focussed on implementing change to deliver real business outcomes, Richard enjoys taking innovation concepts and seeing them through to a commercial reality. As ANZ’s Head of Digital Innovation, Richard shapes and executes ANZ’s technology innovation strategy and transformation change programmes across a number of ANZ domains including Institutional & Commercial business and Data & Payments but when he’s not thinking innovation you can find Richard paddling on the Waitematā, climbing or trekking – anywhere outdoors!
An Executive Council Board member for FinTechNZ, Richard holds a Bachelor of Physical Science and Post Graudate Diploma in Science from The University of Auckland together with an Master of Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School.
Jody is the lead for Open Banking at ANZ. He is also an active member of API Centre and the Digital Identity Executive Council where he shares his passion for making step changes for NZ through a digitally enabled open economy.
With 20+ years of experience across multiple complex change and customer initiatives, together with his first-hand experience of the start-up ecosystem, Jody has a unique combination of business, digital, strategy, data, project, product development, agile, delivery, entrepreneurship and technology insights and relationships.
When he’s not wearing his Open Banking hat Jody can be found playing football, travelling, renovating properties, building a playhouse and spending time with his wife and three girls.
Jody has a 1st Class Bachelor of Science with Honours in Business Information Management from England’s Canterbury Christ Church University. He was also one of ten Kiwi entrepreneurs selected by MBIE to attend MIT’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
A payment strategy and innovation specialist with over 22 years’ experience in business development and sales, Jamahl currently leads ANZ’s progression in Open Banking for the Institutional space. When he’s not talking ecosystems, Jamahl can be found coaching his kids football teams or untangling their fishing lines.
