The API Centre was established in 2019 and since then, has been leading work with the industry to co-design Aotearoa New Zealand’s open banking future. This future we’re creating will power increased innovation, along with new products and services that will empower the financial wellbeing of Kiwis. The centre has a valuable role to play in Aotearoa’s open banking ecosystem through creating the API standards and protocols that will enable this future.
In this seminar, Philip Cass, API Centre manager, will give an update on what the centre has been working on with the industry recently and provide some insights into the areas the centre will focus on over the coming months. There will be opportunities to engage directly with speakers throughout the session, with plenty of time for audience Q&As and the sharing and discussion of industry learnings and experiences in this space.
Our presentations will start with Gavin Wong, Lead Architect for the API Centre who will talk about the API Centre’s common standards from a technical perspective, the functionalities they support, and any other security considerations for the industry, before the seminar wraps up with a presentation by Jamie Leach, Chapter Lead at FDATA A&NZ, who has a wealth of overseas experience in financial services and ‘open’ ecosystems, who will share with us an international perspective, discussing the power of open banking and what this means for society.
