Have you ever wondered what's going on under the surface in your apps?

We all use apps every day, in our laptops, smartphones, etc., but few of us have any idea of what’s happening under the surface. In this 2-hour crash course workshop, Hans Rasmussen will build off his 20 years of experience in developing user interfaces for industrial applications, to take us through the basics of building a fully functioning app from scratch, using Microsoft Visual Studio.

Microsoft's development software, Visual Studio, is a software program for developers to edit and build code through an easy-to-use interface. The software allows creation of graphical content and associated functionality quickly and simply. We will start with a common framework, but most decisions on layout and function is up to you. The result? Each participant will walk away with a completely unique app created and designed by you. There will be plenty of room for your own creativity, and you will soon realise its importance in app development.

No prior knowledge of programming is necessary to attend this workshop, but a general understanding of how to use Windows will be helpful.

Computers and all necessary software are provided. Make sure to bring a USB pen drive so you can save and take home your functional app at the end of the workshop.

Light snacks and refreshments will be available. The number of participants is limited.
