Tēnā koutou katoa, e te iwi!
During TechWeek 22, Te Matarau (The Māori Tech Association) will host a discussion panel featuring some of our current members who mahi within the Tech Sector.
We will seek to explore cultural identity within the tech and digital realms - Te Ao Hangarau me Te Ao Matihiko.
This kōrero will touch on the following discussion points:
- What it means to be Māori in tech
- How cultural identity has influenced practice and approach
- The positive impact of identity in technological innovation
- The impacts of technology on Matauranga Māori & Tikanga Māori [this is a BIG CHUNKY topic which will cover off a lot of stuff!!]
At the end of the session, Te Matarau Kaihautū (Leader) Lee Timutimu will provide a brief update on the association and next steps.
This hybrid event will be a-kanohi (in-person) and online.
We warmly invite you to come and spend time with Te Matarau and some of our amazing members, and learn more about what cultural identity means to us within the technological and digital realms.
