Following on from last year's TWTV discussion about ANZ's journey to Open Banking, join Bronwyn Jones for a reflective discussion on the team's experiences of setting up Open Banking systems from providing third-party access to financial data to, setting up application programming interfaces. Bronwyn will be joined by Daniel Karehana from BlinkPay, Yuchen Fan from Spark and Visa's Ivana Tranchini about their experiences collaborating with ANZ in the delivery of a number of customer facing tools.

With over 15 years banking experience across Retail Banking, Digital and Strategy Bronwyn is passionate about innovation and customer experience and, as New Zealand heads into a new era of open data, she's excited at the role banks can play in improving New Zealanders’ financial wellbeing and forging new relationships within the FinTech ecosystem.

Outside of work, Bronwyn and her husband squeeze in as much rest, relaxation and socialising as possible around two young children and outsourcing home improvement projects!


Daniel Karehana

CEO & Founder, BlinkPay

Prior to founding Blinkpay - one of New Zealand’s emerging fintech’s - Daniel spent more than 16 years working in the banking, insurance and investments sector and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Daniel successfully exited his first start-up which helped large corporates save on tax related interest and penalties processing more than $5Bn in payments during its operation.

With the introduction of Open Banking in New Zealand and the recent legislated initiatives to establish an Open Data economy, he has been heavily involved in developing partnerships with banks and large corporates to leverage these new opportunities.

Outside of the fintech sector, Daniel also worked in the commercial Iwi sector and is of of Ngai Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Awa and Ngāti Paoa descent.

Ivana Tranchini

Head of Products & Solutions, New Zealand & South Pacific Visa Inc.

Ivana is Visa’s Head of Products & Solutions for the New Zealand & South Pacific. In this role she is responsible for working with Visa’s clients and the broader ecosystem participants to develop and implement Visa products and capabilities in a manner that drives growth for the markets.


Prior to this role, Ivana was a Senior Client Director where she lead the growth of key Visa partners. Before this, Ivana had a 12 year career in corporate communications across payments and banking, as well as B2B consulting through global commnications agencies. Ivana lead the Corporate Communications team for Visa across Australia, NewZealand and the South Pacific, based in Sydney. She also lead the Client Communications function for Visa in Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.


Through her experience, Ivana has built a broad understanding of payments from a global and local perspective. She has particular interest in the role of innovation in closing the gap between developed and emerging payments markets, and the learnings that can be shared across these markets relating to new technologies, regulation, ecosystem dynamics and operating models.


Yuchen Fan

Billing and Payment Manager, Spark

Yuchen has worked within the Accounts Receivable industry for 8 years, as Billing and Payment Manager for Spark, Yuchen looks after day to day billing and payment process improvement and, project for future payment methods - a role that excites him and allows Yuchen to explorer the future of Payment, Open Banking, Digital Currency. Prior to his current role, Yuchen was Spark's  Optimization Manager where he was responsible for process improvement, data analysis and reporting.
