A government agency created to empower the innovators and entrepreneurs of Aotearoa New Zealand. We were born out of the simple, powerful idea that our country’s intergenerational prosperity will be driven by smart, bold entrepreneurs creating world-class, world-bettering companies.
As Aotearoa New Zealand's innovation agency, we work with all science and technology-based innovative businesses, with a special focus on Pakihi Māori and Frontier Ventures. Our Grow products are designed primarily to support these two groups, and include strategy design, R&D roadmapping, and business model innovatioOur services and products are designed to help with every stage of an innovator's journey to commercialising their idea. We provide funding and scientific expertise, promote R&D, facilitate collaboration between researchers, scientists, and industry and support the commercialisation of ideas with positive impact.
Our objective
To support science and technology-based innovation and its commercialisation by businesses, primarily in the manufacturing and services sectors, in order to improve their growth and competitiveness.
Our focus areas
Our strategy for the next five years is based on intensifying our support for customers who can have the largest impact for Aotearoa, while still delivering great, efficient support for innovators outside that target group, supported by digital tools where required. We have five pillars to deliver this strategy.
