Powering Up Pacific Tech

Welcome to SACTH - the innovative Hub in South Auckland leading the charge in getting the Maori and Pacific community into the Tech sector.

We believe that technology is for everyone, especially our Pacific and Maori community. We are working to unlock barriers and ensure that our inherent Pacific cultural creativity makes a mark on the Tech world.

Come visit us to learn more.

On the day you can tour our state-of-the-art facility and we will highlight the programmes on offer for young people and the different elements we use to progress their Tech journey.

You'll learn about:

Our unique approach to supporting our young people - our bespoke, culturally-grounded Pastoral Care model:

The pre-home visit before beginning the programmeThe assessment to understand the young person betterThe wrap-around care while on the programmeThe post-Pastoral Care Fridays

Our groundbreaking 6-week GrassRoots Tech programme – A programme that brings the young person into (or back into) the learning environment.

Allowing the young person to learn in an environment that gives them access to top-of-the-line technologyAllowing the young person to learn in an environment that is comfortable for themTo be taught by facilitators that are Maori & Pasifika, allowing the young person to see that they too can achieve good jobs like their facilitators

Our partnership with and pathway into Media Design School's DCF NZQA level 4

Why is it important for young people tp scaffold into this NZQA level 4 programmeWhat is the outcome and insights

We'll also go over what the next steps are after a young person's time with us:

What is the next stage of the pathwayIdentify where the young people will go to continue their tech journeyWhy is this important

You'll also get to check out our Mobile Tech Hub - a kitted-out hub filled with the latest technology that we take around to schools.
